Thinking about heated floors for your home?

If I ever built my own house, in-floor heating wouldn’t be optional. Radiant floor heating provides quiet, even comfort without furnace noise, blowing air, bulky baseboards, or floor registers. Hydronic systems can also be divided into separate heating zones, allowing different rooms to operate at different temperatures based on their use and flooring type. Electric floor heating can be a practical option for a smaller space, such as a bathroom. For larger areas, basements, additions, and whole-home heating, hydronic in-floor heating is often the more suitable option. Planning a custom home or renovation in Kitchener, Waterloo, or Cambridge? It is worth discussing radiant heating before the concrete is poured or the finished flooring is installed. MTAC Plumbing provides hydronic heating and plumbing services throughout Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, and the Tri-Cities. Would heated floors be on your must-have list?

Backflow Testing and Install

Annual backflow testing is one of those jobs that keeps everything running safely behind the scenes. We carried out a full test on a DCVA backflow device for a client in Waterloo, Ontario. Our process included using calibrated gauges, updating test tags, handling all city paperwork, and making sure the property stayed compliant. By checking these devices every year, we help protect water quality and give property owners peace of mind. If you’re due for your next backflow test or need your records updated, let’s get it scheduled.

Custom Home Plumbing Tip #1 Stop waiting forever for hot water

When people build a custom home, they spend a lot of time choosing finishes, fixtures, flooring, and cabinetry. One plumbing decision that often gets overlooked is planning for a hot water recirculation system. In larger homes, it can take a surprising amount of time for hot water to reach the furthest bathrooms or kitchen. During that time, clean water is simply running down the drain while you wait. Planning a dedicated recirculation line during the rough in allows a programmable or demand controlled pump to deliver hot water much faster where it's needed. The right design depends on the home's layout and the homeowner's goals, but it's a conversation worth having before construction moves past the framing stage. Like many parts of plumbing, it's not something you'll notice every day, until you don't have it. If you're building a custom home, this is one of several decisions that can improve comfort and make the home more functional for years to come. Adding a new Commercial Sink and Plumbing In Waterloo - Kitchener

Adding a new commercial sink and fridge water line can reveal just how much thought goes into even the smallest details of a workspace. At this Waterloo site, we planned the rough-in and finishing stages to fit the layout, then ran a dedicated water line and installed a fridge box behind the refrigerator location for a clean, secure fit. Our work made sure every connection was tested for leaks and aligned with the wall, setting up this space for dependable use.
